Don't over promote. People come to Twitter for fun and do not like being sold to. Rather than sending them directly to a sales page or squeeze page, try linking them to an article that will link to your sales page. This will get much better results. Don't over sell. No one wants to follow someone that only seems to be trying to make money off of them.
